Introduction and Maintenance of Pneumatic Diaphragm Pump

Time:2018-06-01Click:

Pneumatic diaphragm pump is a new type of conveying machinery, which uses compressed air as the power source. It can pump out and absorb all kinds of corrosive liquids, liquids with particles, high viscosity, volatile, flammable and highly toxic liquids. At present, it has formed a chemical production, and the product quality is highly praised. According to the investigation of experts from Pump Valve Talent Network, the main feature of this kind of pump is that it can not only pump flowing liquid but also transport some easily flowing media without filling water. It has high suction head, adjustable head (0-50m), and the air source pressure can only work when it is greater than 1kg/cm2. It is absolutely fire and explosion resistant. It has all the functions of submersible pump, self-priming pump, impurity pump, shielding pump, mud pump, and many characteristics of conveying machinery.

Application of pneumatic diaphragm pump: since the pneumatic diaphragm pump has the above characteristics, the pneumatic diaphragm pump has gradually invaded the market of other pumps and occupied a part of it since its birth. For example, the pneumatic diaphragm pump has occupied an absolute leading position in the painting and ceramic industries, while in other industries, such as environmental protection, wastewater treatment, construction, sewage discharge, and fine chemical industry, its market share is expanding, and it has an irreplaceable position in other pumps.

Fault performance, inspection and handling methods of pneumatic and electric diaphragm pumps:

Fault (1): The pneumatic diaphragm pump acts, but the flow is small or no liquid flows out:

handle:

1. Check the cavitation of the pump and reduce the pump speed to let the liquid enter the liquid chamber.

2. Check whether the valve ball is stuck. If the operating liquid is incompatible with the elastomer of the pump, the elastomer will expand. Please replace the elastomer with appropriate material.

3. Check whether the joint at the pump inlet is completely locked, especially the clamp near the valve ball at the inlet end.

Fault (2): The air valve of the pneumatic diaphragm pump is frozen:

Treatment: check whether the water content of compressed air is too high, and install air drying equipment

Fault (3): Bubbles are generated at the outlet of the pneumatic diaphragm pump:

Treatment: check whether the diaphragm is cracked and whether the clamp is locked, especially the inlet pipe clamp.

Fault (4): The product flows out of the air outlet:

Treatment: check whether the diaphragm of the pneumatic diaphragm pump is cracked, and whether the diaphragm and the inner and outer clamping plates are clamped on the shaft

Fault (5): valve rattles: increase outlet or inlet lift.

Fault (6): Pneumatic and electric diaphragm pumps do not operate or operate slowly:

handle:

1. Check whether the filter screen or air filter device at the air inlet end has impurities.

2. Check whether the air valve is stuck, and clean the air valve with cleaning solution.

3. Check whether the air valve of the pneumatic diaphragm pump is worn, and replace it with new parts if necessary.

4. Check the sealing parts of the center body. If they are seriously worn, the sealing effect cannot be achieved, and the air will be discharged from the air outlet. Because of its special construction, please use only GLYD circles.

5. Check whether the piston in the air valve of the pneumatic diaphragm pump works normally.

6. Check the type of lubricating oil. If the added lubricating oil is higher than the viscosity of the recommended oil, the piston may be stuck or not working properly. It is recommended to use light and antifreeze lubricating oil. (ISO Grade 15/5WT antifreeze oil)

Advantages of the pneumatic diaphragm pump: The pneumatic diaphragm pump is a positive displacement pump that changes the volume due to the reciprocating deformation of the diaphragm. Its working principle is similar to that of the plunger pump. Because of the characteristics of the working principle of the pneumatic diaphragm pump, the pneumatic diaphragm pump has the following characteristics:

(1) The pump will not overheat: driven by compressed air, the exhaust is a process of expansion and heat absorption. The temperature of the pneumatic pump is reduced when it works, and no harmful gas is discharged.

(2) No electric spark: the pneumatic diaphragm pump is not powered by electricity, and it prevents electrostatic spark after grounding

(3) It can pass the liquid containing particles: because the volume type works and the inlet is a ball valve, it is not easy to be blocked.

(4) Extremely low shearing force on materials: how to suck in and how to spit out when working, so the stirring of materials is minimal, and it is suitable for the transportation of unstable materials

(5) The flow is adjustable. A throttle valve can be installed at the material outlet to adjust the flow.

(6) The pneumatic diaphragm pump has the function of self-priming.

(7) It can run empty without danger.

Troubleshooting steps for pneumatic diaphragm pump:

1. Before disassembling the pneumatic diaphragm pump, mark the left and right air chambers and liquid chambers respectively to facilitate subsequent reassembly.

2. Use a wrench to loosen the small clamp connecting the outlet pipe and the liquid chamber, remove the outlet pipe to see the valve ball and valve seat, take out the ball and seat, and check other spare parts of the pump for wear, chemical corrosion, cracks, etc.

3. Use a wrench to loosen the small clamp connecting the inlet pipe and the liquid chamber, remove the outlet pipe to see the valve ball and valve seat, take out the ball and seat and check other spare parts of the pump for wear, chemical corrosion, cracks, etc.

4. Use a wrench to separate the liquid chamber from the intermediate of the pump, and remove the liquid chamber to see the diaphragm and diaphragm clamp plate.

5. Use tools or wrenches to fix the left and right edges of the diaphragm outer clamp plate and separate the diaphragm device from the intermediate. Then rotate clockwise to release the diaphragm unit. Remove the shaft from the intermediate after removing the outer diaphragm clamp.

6. Use a clamp (with a pad) to separate the shaft from the diaphragm device, and check whether the shaft, clamp and diaphragm of the pneumatic diaphragm pump are damaged or corroded.
